Letter | Gratitude for food suppliers and farm workers – Santa Cruz Sentinel

A recent Commentary praised the work of food suppliers, companies that work hard to keep the shelves stocked and the supply chain of goods flowing, allowing people to obtain what is needed for everyday life in these incredibly stressful times. I would like to express profound gratitude for an overlooked group that is sadly often hit hardest by COVID-19 – Farm workers and workers in food processing plants and slaughterhouses who deserve a loud thank you from all. So many groups, first responders, nurse, doctors have been thanked with concerts and fund raising. Wouldn’t it be great if some local, well-known musicians celebrated this hard working and worthy group.

The Sentinel welcomes your letters to the editor. Letters should be short, no more than 150 words. We do not accept anonymous letters. Letter-writers should include their full name as well as a street address and telephone number. We don’t publish those details in the newspaper, but need the information for verification purposes. Occasionally, we reject letters simply because we’ve had so many on the same subject. Submit your letters online at www.santacruzsentinel.com/submit-letters.
